In this intensive subject students learn to use the latest technologies to build modern, leading websites. Special focus is placed on modern development practices using HTML5 & CSS3.


WWW102

Students learn to accelerate their development using industry established tools and technologies. The course focuses on exposing students to a wide variety of industry accepted text editors, including Adobe Dreamweaver. Students will also focus on the use of version control tools such as Github. They will develop and publish complex and effective Web Pages and Web Sites using modern development strategies and tools. Strategic design considerations are made for Search Engine Optimization and mobile website development.

Students learn to Create and manipulate images in Photoshop, captivate your audience with great graphics, images and text. Learn how to create logos in Illustrator.

WWW104

The emergence of smart phones, netbooks and tablets mean users are visiting your sites from a broad assortment of devices and browsers. Learn to plan beyond the desktop and build stunning designs that anticipate and respond to your users needs. This module explores how to use HTML5 and CSS3 to craft quality experiences no matter how large (or small) the display. Particular focus is paid to frameworks such as Twitter Bootstrap.

Learn the fundamental concepts of JavaScript and jQuery that form the foundation for web programming and mobile development. Students learn how to design and deploy sophisticated user-interfaces and powerful modern dynamic web pages. Particular focus is given to jQuery.

Students learn how to approach website design as a project. They learn how to research their client's industry, different ways to organize, plan, and design a website, how work is to be sequenced (work flow protocols), what well-designed sites should look like (heuristics), organizing content (information architecture), cost estimating, setting up and running your web design business, communication skills, and conflict resolution.

As websites grow more and more complicated, Content Management Systems (CMS) become a needed reality of modern web development. This module looks at several popular PHP bases CMS's and investigates the strengths and weaknesses of using one as an approach to web development.
